CareerLabsVR originated in Brockville, ON, in the heart of the 1000 Islands. Recognizing the need to update and enhance career exploration tools, while creating opportunities for clients to explore careers through the immersive power of VR, CareerLabsVR partners with industry leaders to create exploration simulations that allow job seekers and students to gain insight into experiences they would encounter “on the job”.
The intention behind the concept of CareerLabsVR was to use the system in employment agencies to support career practitioners with their client’s career exploration journey; but we quickly discovered that the use CareerLabsVR was far reaching. CareerLabsVR has evolved into a system that is utilized in environments where career decisions are being made including, high schools, post-secondary institutions, employment agencies, and more!
The CareerLabsVR team works to develop tools to assist career practitioners and those who assist in guiding career choices. From e-learning modules that guide a facilitator when using VR, to observation forms, walkthrough videos and regular subscriber calls (community of practice/support calls), career info sheets with salary (US and Can), lesson plans with skill identification; we have a passion to assist in shaping career decisions and opening eyes to the possibilities that job seekers and students may never experience without the immersive power of VR.
