Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world, accounting for 50% of the worlds total fish production.  Experience a career takes you from working indoors and monitoring fingerlings to operating technology beside a peaceful body of water, and ensuring that fish health is optimal.

As a mechanic, you will work on many different vehicles! From an older car that needs a muffler replaced, to working on disconnecting the electrical system of an electric car, this experience is diverse and highlights the variety in a mechanics day.

Maneuvering through homes in various stages of construction, this experience allows you to get an idea of the range of jobs a carpenter may encounter. Constructing a header in a new build home, to installing floor – an experience not to be missed!

Work on a large CNC vertical milling machine. The explorer will learn to read design drafts and then program the functionality of the machine in order to fill the order.

Try three popular types of welding while working on the construction site of a building. The explorer will learn all about MIG, TIG, and Stick welding as they work their way up the construction site preforming a range of welding tasks.

Farming is becoming more and more technologically advanced! Using an automated milking machine, operating a drone for crop monitoring, and animal care, is the type of variety that makes this job an exciting part of the agricultural sector.

Drive and operate a large excavator and must help remove rubble from a trench. They will need to work multiple levers inside the cabin of a large excavator, collecting rocks using the bucket and dumping them into dump-truck.

Work from a metropolitan rooftop to assess the performance of heating and cooling units. They will learn to troubleshoot broken units replacing and repairing fans, wires, refrigerant levels, and complete other tasks an HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) technician may face in a day on the job.

Do we know how some of our tomatoes end up in the grocery store? Working in a controlled hydroponics greenhouse, you will get an idea of how they grow – from seed to table. A career that is seen as a major part of the future of food security!

Taking place in the new addition of a manufacturing facility, users will experience dark spaces and working at heights as they work on making a Stub90, labelling wires, working with a PLC system, and more!

Learn the process of working on a large manual lathe and manual milling machine. They will be tasked with reading and interpreting design drafts, cleaning the workspace, setting up, and operating various machines.

Working in a bottling facility, you will work on executing preventative and reactive maintenance on motors; as well as working to get a production line back up and going. A millwright does a variety of tasks each day, and this experience is no exception!

Participants experience some of the planning phases of building a mine as they learn about various mine types. They will learn to pilot a drone, load blast caps and more in order to get the mine underway.

Learn to drive a cable shovel excavator. The explorer will use the cable shovel navigating to various sites of the mine to fill haul trucks with material from inside the mine which contains hematite rock.

Learn to measure and cut large water pipes and help with the installation process. The simulation takes place at an outdoor construction site for a new hydroelectric dam. The explorer will need to read and interpret the blueprints in this simulation to cut and fit pipes to the correct length.

Work in a control room to monitor and adjust the variables of four different machines. These machines include hammer crushers, magnetic separators, froth flotation cells, and Disc pelletizers. Participants must keep the production quality of iron ore pellets up.

Prioritize your day, and work on a variety of tasks in a residential setting. Respond to a plumbing emergency, adjust and monitor a hot water tank, prepare and install various components for a bathroom reno. All in a days work for a plumber!

This simulation depicts some of the activities of control, evaluation and the regulatory aspects of food processing. Testing for bacteria, and sensory analysis of a new product is just a part of what this career entails!

Install new appliances in an old basement being turned into a rental unit. They will need to find and fix broken wires, assess the voltage, learn how to troubleshoot outlet repair, and use some of the tools that are unique to this trade.

Work in a facility that manufactures parts for wind turbines. Learn to set-up and program robotic welding arms. Participants must ensure that the welding production process goes to plan.

Perform maintenance and run diagnostics on broken robots in order to repair them. They will also need to submit performance logs and adjust line speeds as you work to ensure everything is running effectively.

Assemble and then install metal ducts in a small home workshop. The explorer will learn about manipulating sheet metal using guillotines and bending brakes to cut and bend sheet metal into the required sizes before heading over to the job site to install things.

Work on a large oxygen furnace which is used to produce molten steel from iron. The explorer will begin the experience in a control room overlooking the large production floor where they will prepare for the next stages of steel production.

Learn about the basic components of stick welding in order to complete several welds around a construction site. They will experience working at heights on some scaffolds and will be challenged with some difficult angles, something commonly experienced by welders.
